Wissa’s avian-inspired UAV work aids Toyota energy project

Toyota representatives visited the BAM lab last month to discuss a possible bio-inspired solution to their energy harvesting Mothership project. Wissa's work in stall mitigation using avian-inspired feather like structures help Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) execute advanced maneuvers which is of interest to Toyota. Toyota's team believe that coverts are a possible solution to the uncontrolled yaw oscilation experienced by their energy harvesting kite. More details can be found here:
